Jackson-Triggs Niagara Estate is looking for an individual to join their full-time cellar team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at one of Canada’s foremost wine producers, and the most awarded winery in Canada.  This opportunity will immerse you into the heart of Niagara wine country and provide hands on experience with premium VQA wine production across a broad range of styles.

The job will entail all aspects of wine production.  We are currently recruiting for a detail oriented, career driven, team player who is self-motivated and goal focused to fill the position of Cellar Hand at Jackson-Triggs. As a whole our organization emphasizes a collaborative working environment, offering the systems and structure to support our continued growth and employment opportunities.

As a Cellar Hand you will work closely with our Winemaking team in the creation of our award-winning wines. 

Key Responsibilities:
• Grape Processing: Grape and Juice Reception, Destemming, Crushing, and Pressing
• Cellar Work: Barrel Work, Racking, Product Transfers, Product Blending, and Product Addition
• Cellar Sanitation: Tank & Barrel Cleaning, and general cleaning of facility and winery equipment
• Follow all safety procedures as directed by standard operating procedures
• Disgorging and finish good packaging of all Entourage method classic products
• Safe Operation of Cellar Forklift and Other Winery Equipment (Training Provided)
• Inventory Control 

Job Requirements: 

• Wine and viticulture diploma or equivalent with cellar experience preferred

• Strong commitment to quality with attention to detail.

• Candidate must be hands on, dependable, and self-starting.

• Good problem solving abilities 

• Knowledge of safe cellar practices, including safe handling of chemicals.

• Ability to be trained in confined space entry process and procedures.

• Knowledge of winery cellar operating procedures.

• Teamwork and customer service skills.

• Ability to work shift work including weekends.

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

• Maintain an organized work place.

• Ability to lift 55 lbs.
