Vintage Cellar Hand - Icewine Harvest (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

  Niagara on the Lake, Ontario

Pillitteri Estates Winery is the World's Largest Estate Producer of Icewine. This is a temporary full time position and the successful candidate will be involved in every aspect of production from berry to bottle.

Requirements of the ideal candidate: 

  • High school diploma
  • Previous vintage experience an asset
  • Must be able to work to the completion of the vintage (estimated 3-6 months)
  • Valid sin number or work permit
  • Must be able to work shift work including weekends and evenings

Duties include:

  • Fruit processing
  • Weighing, sorting, operating and cleaning the de-stemmer and presses
  • Cleaning equipment and tanks
  • Racking wine juice and inoculations
  • Pump overs and punch downs
  • Juice and wine additions
  • Barrel work

Skills:

  • Must be able to work at heights
  • Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors (with a potential of inclement weather)
  • Must be able to lift 55lbs
  • Highly motivated
  • Strong work ethic
  • Strong communication skills
  • Work in a team setting
  • Valid forklift license is an asset
