Director, Market Insights & Intelligence (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

 Our team is currently looking for a dynamic individual for the role of Director, Market Insights & Intelligence. This new role will play an important part in the innovation of new products/brands from the companies Canadian owned wineries in Ontario and British Columbia by acting as the “voice of the consumer”.

 Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Marketing & Strategy, this role will be influential in helping the Company build partner and owned brands through insights, elevated strategic leadership and relevant and timely analysis of consumer, channel needs and trends and category / competitive behaviors.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

·Develop & provide “best in class” insights on category, channel, brand, customer and shopper

·Assist in development of category / brand growth projections based on trend analysis

·Build industry and category predictive models for the domestic supply chain focusing on the Ontario and BC markets

·Focus insights and strategy for portfolio, pricing, promotion, and placement strategy

·Interface with the channel partners (e.g. provincial retailers, grocery) and brand owners / suppliers and to identify, capture & develop relevant Shopper Insights to assist in development of marketing strategies and plans

·Assists in the development of compelling presentations to Liquor Boards / Buyers and participates as required

·Delivers recommendations through targeted market research / analysis of syndicated studies / tools to drive objectives

·Leverage available information sources (e.g. - ACD, EZ Focus, Sale of Data, proprietary sources, etc.) to focus sales efforts using GIS analysis.

·Provide analysis and recommendations to brand / Trade and sales teams to help focus and drive sales

·Responsible for “elevating” our fact-based decision-making, knowledge creation, learning and application

· “Localize” trends from global trend resources to apply/integrate into the Canadian market

· Assist in the data analysis required for effective “target marketing” activities with a view to maximizing sales effectiveness and budget efficiencies

·Play an active role in decision making as a member of the Company’s innovation team focussed on new products / brands

·Identify behavioral insights across the customer journey (all channels) to aid understanding of consumer interactions and opportunities to drive our business

·Assist in the evaluation of the effectiveness of marketing initiatives

·Assist in the identification and evaluation of potential opportunities to expand / fill our brand portfolio, either from within existing partners or with new partners

Experience & Qualifications 

The ideal candidate for this position will come from a professional background that includes 10+ years of experience in marketing, brand, research, shopper- insights or similar in beverage alcohol and / or CPG industries.

The successful candidate will be /possess: 

·Proven effectiveness in working independently and as an involved member of a team

·A strategic thinker that is results / performance driven

·Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple clients and/or projects at once

·Creative analytical and data synthesis abilities, from identifying issues and sourcing relevant information to interpretation and presentation

·Strong communication, data visualization, storytelling skills, and the ability to comfortably present to a range of audiences

·Strategically minded in solving client problems, able to draw meaningful conclusions from information to deliver compelling insights and solutions

·A proactive ideas-generator with strong initiative – and equally talented at executing on those ideas

·Passionate about searching for the “Why behind the What”, and helping chart a plan to action

·Exceptionally detail-oriented, but never miss the big picture

·Exceptional communications skills (written and oral) and business communication

·Strong analytical skills; ability to synthesize and analyse data from multiple sources into integrated recommendations and action

· A proven collaborator with the ability to help others grow and improve

·University Degree in Business / Marketing or equivalent experience
