2019 Seasonal Hospitality & Events Support (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

We are looking for a keen learner with a passion for wine to join our fantastic 2019 Hospitality Team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a top-notch hosptiality team to develop your knowledge of the wine industry and the Golden Mile Bench in particular, training alongside a former WSET trainer, a fine-dining restaurant Sommelier, and a hospitlaity manager.  

Reporting directly to the Hospitality Front-of-House Logistics Manager, we are looking for a part-time teammate to join the Culmina team, predominantly on weekends, from June to Septmber. 

The details of the position are as follows:

Tasting Room & Event Support

  • Provide an exemplary Tasting Room experience, offering Reserve Tastings and Vineyard & Winery Tours
  • Create Tasting Room reservations
  • Assist customers with Sales, Shipping and initiate Wine Club Memberships
  • Maintain the overall cleanliness and appearance of the Tasting Room
  • Participate and engage in all safety programs
  • Provide support at on- and off-site events

 Experience and / or qualitifactions:

  • A warm and outgoing personality
  • A desire to learn
  • Ability to think quickly on your feet, and organize effectively on the fly
  • Great customer service abilities and a passion to offer top-notch levels of service
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work on a compact team, and to work independently
  • Retail wine sales or Fine Dining skills considered an asset
  • Database Management skills (Vin65 or other considered an asset)
  • Must work weekends
  • Solid knowledge of and/or a proven passion for wine with formal wine training (ISG, WSET)
  • Serving It Right certificate
  • Physical ability to perform all duties associated with the role including standing for long periods of time, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, etc.

Culmina Family Estate Winery is a family-run winery estate located on the Golden Mile Bench. 

Remuneration negotiated upon offer; very competitive hourly compensation available.
