We are looking for a DTC Operations Manager to lead our team and manage our day to day operations. This is a new role for our organization. You will lead all elements of the tasting room/tasting garden/picnic area as well as web/wine club sales and oversee the administration team. You will work closely with our general manager to coordinate the onsite team. You will be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously to ensure our direct to consumer sales achieve defined goals and targets.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing in a retail/sales environment (ideally wine), you will have a solid knowledge and understanding of tasting room operations and direct to consumer sales with a working knowledge of social media and marketing. You must be a self-led forward thinker that is willing to look outside the box to create solutions and be passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Your primary responsibilities will include:

Lead the Tasting Room and administration teams to deliver exemplary customer service and share our story along with the philosophy on our wines and vineyard

Provide ongoing coaching to our staff to ensure consistency in service delivery and to promote River Stone Estate Winery and help achieve sales targets in the Tasting Room

Ensure continuous improvement and development of policies and procedures and provide staff training

Create and proactively manage staff schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels that meet defined budget and business requirements

Provide coaching, training, and ongoing feedback for the Tasting room and admin staff

Promote the benefits of wine club with both customers and the staff to meet monthly and yearly sales targets

Monitor and control wine inventory and merchandise to ensure the correct inventory and supplies are in place

Manage DTC wine shipments

Responsible for ensuring that our IT systems and software are relevant to our requirements and working internally and with external suppliers to keep our IT systems and processes relevant

Maintain accurate product and pricing information in the POS system and assist in developing pricing strategies to achieve defined revenue targets

Ensure reservation system is maintained with accurate experience availability and product offering

Key point of contact for Tour companies and all external suppliers and customers

Develop and Co-ordinate tasting experiences to enhance the River Stone Brand and further enhance customer loyalty and engagement

Work closely with and support the finance team, produce reports, monitor daily, weekly and monthly targets and ensure pro active adjustments to achieve targets where needed

Responsible for monitoring daily & monthly wine sales vs targets, calculating wine club bonuses and other reporting functions that may be required

Work closely with the marketing team to ensure alignment and consistency across all sales channels

Work closely with the marketing team and management to develop and deliver an annual events programme
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:
▪ Business or Hospitality/Tourism training and experience, ideally in the wine industry
▪ Minimum post secondary diploma or equivalent
▪ Must have a strong working knowledge of common software tools (Excel, Word, POS systems etc) and be comfortable working with Cloud based software systems and tools and ideally have experience with maintaining and developing web and social media content.
▪ Must have a solid understanding of Okanagan wines and/or wine education an asset
▪ Previous experience leading cross functional teams is a must
▪ Strong management and organization skills
▪ Strong communication skills
▪ Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor others to achieve business goals
▪ A passion for customer service
▪ Requires ability to give attention to detail and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently

Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
This role will be a year round full time position; some flexibility on working hours/days may be required.
The role will be based in Oliver at River Stone Estate Winery, some travel may be required to support events etc off site. Successful applicants must have the unrestricted right to live and work in Canada.
