Culmina Family Estate Winery is a new, family-run winery estate located on the Golden Mile Bench. Conceived in 2007, Don, Elaine and Sara Triggs started with a simple goal: to make the highest quality wines possible from their family's own estate. Channeling their lifelong passion and resources into their new property, Culmina represents their commitment to excellence, as well as their desire to craft icon quality wines reflective of their origins. Since opening its doors in 2013, Culmina offers the opportunity to explore a very limited release of carefully crafted wines at their state-of-the-art winery and Tasting Room.
Culmina is looking for a warm, intelligent, and highly organized person to lead the Tasting Room & Events program at Culmina. This position will work with the Sales & Marketing Manager in the following areas:
Hospitality:
- Provide an exemplary tasting room guest experience, offering
- Reserve Tastings and Vineyard & Winery Tours
- Manage a small team of seasonal tasting room staff including hiring, scheduling, training and supervision
- Develop bonus programs to meet monthly sales goals
- Carry out wine inventories
- Complete all Tasting Room Sales reports
- Order and stock merchandise and supplies
- Manage Tasting Room reservations with online booking software
- Promptly reply to Tasting Room inquiries and scheduling of appointments
- Manage the info@ email account
- Update the Tasting Room Subscriber database
- Create social media content from day to day Tasting Room Operations
- Maintain the overall cleanliness and appearance of the Tasting Room and all other front of house areas
- Execute safety training for new tasting room staff
Events:
- Execute and manage all winery events, leading other support staff
- Work with third party vendors to organize rentals, equipment, and other services for events
- Support sales & marketing team to upload event marketing information to website
- Create content for social media outlets at events
- Support off-site trade events
Qualifications:
- Outstanding customer service abilities, as well as a desire to offer top-knotch levels of service
- Experience as a supervisor or team leader
- Retail sales or Fine Dining Management skills
- Database Management skills (Vin65 or other considered an asset)
- A warm and outgoing personality
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Ability to work on a compact team
- Abiliy to work weekends and the occasional evening
- Exceptional computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Solid knowledge of and/or a proven passion for wine, with formal training considered an asset (ISG, WSET, etc)
- Serving It Right certificate
- Ability to lift 40 lbs
Hourly remuneration commensurate with experience and negotiated upon offer.
