We are looking for a passionate and dedicated wine service professional with a desire to provide Icon standard guest experiences, manage and execute 5-star winery events, and contribute to the ongoing operations of our vineyard and teams.
This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with a small team and develop your knowledge of the wine industry and the Golden Mile Bench in particular. Reporting directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing, this is position involves full time, year-round work for the right candidate.
The details of the position are as follows:
Hospitality Program Coordination
- Recruit and train seasonal Tasting Room staff as required
- Coordinate weekly targets for the Tasting Room staff
- Manage daily operation of Culmina’s Guest Management & POS software
- Train and coach seasonal staff in: standards of presentation; wine service; retail sales; customer engagement/experience; reaching targets; identifying areas for personal/professional growth
- Manage Tasting Room expenses within a provided budget
- Manage stock levels of wine in the Tasting Room from warehouse inventory to ensure sufficient levels for tasting /sale
- Set standards for and manage the cleaning service
Tasting Room Operations Execution
- Carry out Tasting Room inventory counts
- Execute all Hospitality offerings
- Manage POS cash and deposits
- Ensure cleanliness of the entire front of house
- Support fulfillment activities
Winery Event Coordination & Execution
- Manage relationships with external operators, securing rentals and reservations when required
- Support the planning of all 2018 events
- Execute all events from inception to completion, taking responsibility for event staffing, parking, menu planning, guest management, catering company relations, wine service, etc
- Support Culmina’s communication efforts at winery events on social media
Vineyard & Winery Operations Support
- Assist the cellar team during the vintage with lab testing, bin reception, sorting fruit, barrel topping, and cleaning
- Assist the vineyard team during the winter months in pruning, tying
Promotional Event Brand Ambassador Support
- Support the scheduling and execution of in-store tastings
- Attend off-site wine festivals representing the brand
Fulfilment Activity Support
- Pack cases for shipment,
- Prepare pallets for shipment
