Intersection Estate Winery in Oliver is hiring seasonal Wine Educators for our tasting bar.
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals want to help us give our customers an exceptional wine experience. At Intersection, we pride ourselves on being welcoming, unpretentious, but most of all educational. Applicants do not require prior experience in the wine industry, but they MUST have an interest in wine and a willingness to learn. Customer service skills are the foremost requirements.

We are a small farm and winery south of Oliver that focuses on Rhone Whites, Riesling, and Merlot. From our 10 acre site, we create some beautiful, complex wines that are a pleasure to showcase to our customers.
Job Description
This position focuses on building education experiences on our Tasting bar and environs. We are looking for a part time position to start, leading to full time hours in the main part of the season. The nature of the job would include:
- Describe the history and philosophy of the Estate and wine brand.
- Showcase our wines and the process in creating them.
- Provide a welcoming, rich, and informative experience for guests.
- Pour wine sample within a responsible service environment.
- Clean and maintain the interior and exterior hospitality spaces.
- Stock inventory and create sales displays.
- Open and close the tasting room.
- Assisting with building shipping orders and club orders
- Assisting with special events
Additional learning possibilities:
As well, Intersection is a small farm and winery with a focus on education for staff. We want to provide an environment where you can grow and learn about the process of growing grapes and making wine. Throughout the season if you are interested, there may be opportunities to work with our production teams on the following:
- Assist in production (tank and barrel work)
- Assist in sorting/crushing the grapes during harvest
- Assist in vineyard prep (pruning, counting bunches)
- Assist in harvesting grapes
- Assist in bottling the wines

Applicants should ideally have:
- A passion for wine and the interest to further their knowledge of the industry.
- Experience with customer service, hospitality, sales, and digital Point-of-Sale systems.
- Be able to follow covid protocols as mandated by provincial authority.
- Ability to lift 40lb cases of wine.
- Serving it Right Certificate (and must be 19+ years of age).
- Willingness to take on flexible tasks extending beyond the tasting bar.
- Capacity to work independently and balance multiple tasks.
- Formal wine training not required, but a desire to learn is necessary.
