Key Responsibilities:
The TECHNICAL OFFICER responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Assignment of Technical personnel resources (Technical Specialist, Disease & Pest Monitors) to efficiently complete technical activities
1. Developing & Updating monitoring protocols for i nternal vineyards & providing similar information & support to growers through the grower liaison

2. C Probe, Weather station & Adcon server

>>> Vineyard acreages / NDVI / other

>>> Special Projects / Trials
- Development, scheduling & communication of vineyard task plans
1. Spray Plan (Product recommendations & orders, application rates, timing)
>>> Develop a foliar spray plan by block based on bloom & petiole analysis
2. Pruning Plan (By block & tier per demand)
3. Fertilization /Fertigation Plan based on NDVI analysis & soil sample results
4. Monitoring timing & deadlines
5. Wind machine temperature alarm settings to prevent / minimize cold injury
6. Crop Estimates – Allocations
>>> Based on crop estimates & supply/demand – develops the allocation plan
>>> Bud count, bunch count, visual estimation
7. Maturity sampling plan / Harvest plan
- Technical Data Oversight & Strategy Decisions
1. Vine & vineyard data
2. Crop production maximization strategies
3. Collection & interpretation of monitoring results & areas of concerns to establish economic & effectiveness thresholds
4. Organize sprayer calibration data from all vineyards
>>> Evaluate sprayer effectiveness
5. Chemical interactions / oversight / effectiveness
6. Resolve vineyard growing/fruiting & other issues in growing season
7. Weather & crop related strategies
>>> Leaf & Crop thinning Liaison with Viticulturist & Director of Viticulture
- Driving technical team efficiency while maintaining quality standards
- Completing electronic & hard copy data entry as required Strong awareness of and adherence to safe working conditions
1. Monitors technical team safety performance
2. Ensures technical team members are operating within safety requirements
3. Provides feedback to technical team members to ensure safety
- Collection & submission of reports specific to team data as required
- Creation & implementation of work schedules to ensure task completion
- Leading Special Projects / Trials
- Implements training & development strategies to enhance team performance
- Serves as a resource and content expert to team members; providing them with guidance in their work activities
- Serves as a resource and content expert for any required training materials for the team
- Creates opportunities for team members to provide input on procedures/processes and share their expertise with other team members
- Ensures that each team member feels that their work is valued, appreciated, and meaningful to the success of the business
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in viticulture University Degree or Equivalent
- Level 1 First Aid an Asset
- Ability & willingness to work a flexible schedule (evenings, weekends, holidays)
- Must have a valid driver’s license & transportation
- Strong ability to communicate verbally & in writing in English
