Data Administrator for Wine Production (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

Bench 1775 Winery, located in the beautiful Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley in central BC seeks a positive and hard-working individual to join our Cellar Crew at our rapidly growing facility.

 

The successful candidate will be able to fully administrate the traceability from vineyard to finished wine using a cellar software database. This position also involves working in all aspects of premium wine production as needed. This position reports to the Winemaker & General Manager

 

Requirements:

 

  • able to work legally in Canada (hold a valid Social Insurance Number)
  • Bachelor's Degree, HS diploma or equivalent experience (2+ years) in data administration and related softwares
  • 2 + years cellar experience
  •  Team-Oriented and helpful 
  •  Punctual and Reliable
  • Self-Motivated and Energetic
  • Positive and optimistic 
  • Attention to Detail
  • Able to lift 25kg repeatedly and work on your feet for up to 10 hours/day
  • Willing to work long hours, overtime & weekends when necessary, especially during harvest
  • Ability to read, understand and complete paperwork accurately
  • Ability to change focus, duties & activities quickly and with a good attitude
  • Forklift skills (certification)
  • good understanding of winemaking in order to record with accuracy all work flow
  • Love of wine

 

Responsibilities Include (But are not limited to):

  • document all work orders provided by the winemaker and completed by cellar staff in Process2Wine software database or similar
  • document all work completed in the cellar using process2wine database or similar
  • maintain hygiene and security of all cellar data
  • establish and maintain data rules in cooperation with management for recording data in the database
  • assist with developing reports and data extraction for the winemaker and regulatory reporting bodies
  • have a deep understanding of the winery and possess the skills required to carry out all operations for the production of premium wines
  • supervise all data collection and recording of cellar staff operations as per work orders from the winemaker

 

Spanish language skills and experience with Process 2 Wine database software is an advantage. 

 

Hourly wage based on experience. Contract position for 2018 season that could be a full time position based on fit.
