Little Engine Wines in less than two years has become known for producing some of Canadas most sought-after wines. Due to our rapid growth, we are currently seeking an experienced Direct to Consumer professional to join our team.
The Wine Club & Hospitality Manager will be a motivated and positive self-starter. This individual will serve as the front-line manager for our Wine Club, on line Ecommerce and Events. The successful candidate will be responsible for all guest/member interaction, key sales metrics and be an expert at providing beyond expectation customer service.
Specifically, this person will demonstrate success by:
· Growing Wine Club membership by designing and implementing industry best practices, maximizing onsite conversions and undertaking creative marketing programs
· Retaining existing Wine club members through customer engagement, consistent follow-up and outstanding customer service
· Creating effective marketing programs including e-mails, promotional materials, events and packages
· Acting with a willingness to experiment and try new things to push the boundaries of a traditional club to make the business something extraordinary
Core Responsibilities
· Increase wine club membership, sales and profitability
· Train and motivate staff to grow Wine Club membership and support activities, working closely with Tasting Room Manager
· Track business with Wine Club software
· Coordinate inventory and shipments to ensure flawless execution of bi-annual wine club shipments and other campaigns
· Execute customer shipments and follow-up for both tasting room and off-site sales
· Maintain and update Ecommerce online store and winery point of sale systems with current SKUs, production information, images and inventory.
· Performs management duties and serves as the Manager on Duty (MoD) in absence of Tasting Room Manager.
· Deliver exceptional consumer experience by pouring wines and educating consumers.
· Function as a Brand Manager. Act as an informed resource for public, industry and consumers regarding our viticulture, winemaking, production, vintages, and products.
Competencies and Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Min. 4 yrs. experience in Wine Retail and/or Club Management (or equivalent) desired; exceptional, similar experience from outside wine business welcome
· Formal wine knowledge training (ISG or WSET)
· Flexibility in scheduling to work weekends, some evenings (events)
· Proficient with MailChimp, including building newsletters and list management
· Experience maintaining content on Squarespace and website
· Strong computer skills, notably Microsoft, POS (Retail and Wine Club)
· Proven track record of supervising, leading and coaching.
· Ability to lift, move and carry up to 35 – 50 lbs.
