Lead Cellar Hand (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

TIME Family of Wines is a progressive Okanagan-based company, is home to Evolve Cellars, Chronos Winery, TIME Winery and McWatters Collection providing a host of wines and hospitality service.

Built within a revitalized historic theatre in downtown Penticton, the heart of South Okanagan wine country, Time Family of Wines a tasting bar, lounge, and intimate outdoor patio for guests to enjoy. 

Job Description & Position Requirements include:

  • Previous winery work essential (3-5 years)
  • Grape Processing: Grape Reception, Sorting, Destemming, Crushing, and Pressing 
  • Fermentation Management: Inoculations, Nutrient Additions, Sampling, Pump Overs, Punch Downs, Sugar Monitoring, and Digging Out of Fermenters 
  • Cellar Work: Barrel Work, Racking, Product Transfers and Additions
  • Cellar Sanitation: Tank & Barrel Cleaning, and general cleaning of facility and winery equipment 
  • Safe Operation of Cellar Forklift and Other Winery Equipment (Training provided)
  • Follow all safety procedures as directed by standard operating procedures 
  • Other Duties as Required 
  • Possess a passion for wine and the winemaking process
  • Must be a team player and possess "can do" leadership attitude
  • Must be highly motivated, self starter and willing to take direction from senior management
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Must be able to long hours during harvest. Work weekends, some evenings and some holidays
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25kg.

You will work closely with the winemaker in all aspects of winemaking.

 

This position is full time. 

Competitive compensation based on experience. Benefits provided after 3 months.
