Black Widow Winery is family owned and operated, situated on the beautiful Naramata Bench in Penticton, BC. We own two vineyards in this wine region and source additional grapes locally. Vineyard operations were founded in 2000, and the winery in 2006.
Today our production averages 3,000 cases per year. Our track record of producing high quality, award winning wines from Naramata Bench grapes has established us as one of BC’s premium boutique wineries, with a large base of repeat customers.
We are looking for new team members who would like to work 15-30 hours per week, have a passion for the wine industry, excel in customer service, and are able to multitask.
Duties include
- Tasting Room opening, preparation, organizing, re-stocking.
- Provide educational tastings, and positive customer experience.
- Inform visitors about our Wine Club and process club sign-ups.
- Responsible for sales transactions, including point of sale, taking payment and packing orders.
- Perform various cleaning duties including but not limited to dishwashing, sanitizing surfaces, servicing washroom and general housekeeping of the Wine Shop.
Qualifications
- Serving It Right, 19 years of age at a minimum, and fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
- Wine knowledge (WSET or other wine or winemaking courses and/or experience.)
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. (a typical case of wine)
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time (4 to 6 hours).
- Available 2-5 days/week, preferably including weekends.
Personal Qualifications
- Friendly and polite nature, attentive to customer needs. Serving experience is an asset.
- Responsible, reliable, and committed, with good communication skills.
- A love for wine and a thirst for knowledge.

Include with your application how many days per week you are interested in. We have some flexibility. Shifts are generally 4 to 6 hours each day. We open weekends April 29th through May, then 7 days/week for the balance of the season (mid-October or sell-out).
Starting hourly wage $20.00 plus typically generous gratuities, and discount on Black Widow wines. Bonuses for Wine Club Signups. Wage subject to performance review and experience.
