Manager of Sales and Service
A fast growing, award winning winery in BC is looking for an individual to lead the strategic growth of our sales and service. This individual will be responsible for developing existing and new employees as business growth requires. The successful candidate should be interested in the millennial market, be team oriented, and may have experience in administration, sales, marketing, wine retail, DTC and food and beverage. The Director of Sales and Service reports directly to the Proprietor.
Northern Lights Estate Winery (BC’s most northern winery, opened in 2015), and has developed into a mid-sized winery specializing in the new age of fruit wine making. NLEW produces high quality fruit wines that are leading the industry and attracting a focussed audience of Millennial and young Gen X wine consumers. In 2017 NLEW was recognized by the Prince George Chamber of Commerce as “Business of the Year” and won “Best in Category” at “The Best of BC Varietal Awards” for the fruit wine category, as well as earning 2 gold medals at the “All Canadian Wine Championships”. Already the 3rd largest fruit winery in BC, NLEW is projected to double its current sales within 2 years and will soon begin constructing a new production facility. With sales currently evenly distributed between Northern BC, The Okanagan, and Vancouver Island, there is tremendous growth opportunity with significant untapped markets in BC and abroad.
To qualify for this unique opportunity the individual must be willing to relocate to Prince George and have a number of the following qualifications:
- Education: post secondary degree and/or certifications
- Knowledge of wine industry regulations and regulatory reporting
- Professional wine product knowledge, WSET or similar program preferred.
- Management experience in a leadership role, preferably in a similar industry
- Experience in brand building, retail sales, DTC, events, administration, & financial management
- Strategic marketing and public relations experience
- Exceptional communication skills
- Exceptional problem solving skills
- The ability to be a community advocate and interact well outside of the business
- The ability to provide a safe and fulfilling work environment for all staff
- Experience in business planning and analysis
- A high degree of personal accountability. Be willing to “roll up your sleeves”
