Cellar Master – Permanent position

 Michel Jodoin Cidery is a family-run business across 5 generations, located in beautiful Rougemont, Quebec.  It has been in the family since 1901, but since the 1980’s, Michel transformed the business into one of the most renowned cideries in Quebec.  Michel Jodoin Cidery is known for its premium apple ciders; specifically traditional method sparkling ciders.  Michel studied in France and integrated techniques from wine-making into the cider-making process.  In addition, we are also a micro-distillery producing high-quality apple-based spirits like brandy, mistelles and eau-de-vie.

The cidery is currently looking for an experienced, rigorous and creative cellar master who is capable of leading a small, but dynamic team.  You must also be capable of working/communicating well with other departments like management, sales/marketing, production and finance. This is a full-time year-round position that would commence immediately.

Main responsibilities:

·             Lead the product innovation process in collaboration with different departments.

·             Production planning and execution

·             Production reporting

·             Quality process improvement and HACCP implementation

·             Inventory planning and management

·             Performing lab analysis and lab administration

·             Compliance with health standards

·             Traceability

·             Pressing

·             Filtration

·             Fermentations

·             Transfers

·             Bottling

 

Requirements: 

·         A certificate or degree in Oenology/Winemaking from an accredited academic institution

·         Having successfully held an oenologist/winemaker position for at least 3 years.

·         Must speak and write in French. English is an asset.

 

 Hours of work and compensation:

·         This is a full-time, year-round position based on a 40H work week

·         Compensation will be in the form of a competitive salary, health benefits after 3 months, and an employee discount

·         Total compensation package will be commensurate with experience
