Lunessence Winery & Vineyard is a boutique premium winery in Summerland producing approximately 3,000 cases a year. Since the property was purchased in 2014 we have made a commitment to sustainable vineyard and winemaking practices. The vineyard was certified organic in 2020 and we have since release our Estate Single Vineyard Series. We are looking for a young, motivated winemaker looking to take the next step in their career.

Qualifications:

• Oenology/Viticulture degree (preferred) and/or 2 years’ practical experience 
• Friendly, easy-going personality with a good sense of humour
• Organized and detail oriented
• Experience in cellar operations including laboratory
• Vineyard experience required
• Organic farming experience would be an asset
• Forklift experience necessary
• Tractor experience an asset 
• Mechanical skills in relation to winery and vineyard equipment maintenance an asset
• Valid drivers’ licence 
• Ability to work in Canada required
• Fit and healthy with the ability to lift 80 pounds

Responsibilities:

• Reports directly to the General Manager
• Managing all winery and vineyard operations
• Managing one or two vineyard workers
• Processing 50+ tonnes of fruit
• Maintain cellar operations, including record keeping
• Performing lab analysis
• Blending trials
• Cleaning tanks, barrels, equipment, and winery
• Work with contract bottling services 
• Managing and establishing relationships with grape growers and production partners
• Work planning, ordering and scheduling 
• Tasting and marketing when required
