Job Description

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Ontario Sales Manager, this position’s mandate is to increase the sales and market share of the Authentic Wine & Spirits Merchants portfolio of brands within the parameters set and in line with expectations of the company. Responsible for developing and maintaining critical partner relationships with on-premises accounts and key LCBO stores within the key Toronto territory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Account Management Responsibilities: 

On-Trade

  • Drive sales of the Authentic Wine & Spirits portfolio in the assigned on-premise accounts meeting and exceeding assigned KPIs;

  • Maximize volume sales and product placements within the on-trade account base for LCBO, VINTAGES and consignment priority brands;

  • Placement and activation of Louis Roederer while maintaining brand standards;

  • Placement and activation of premium spirits portfolio in key lighthouse accounts;

  • Target and develop new innovation accounts with priority focus on consignment and VINTAGES;

  • Organize field days for supplier principals and ambassadors in accordance with management expectations;

  • Budget management;

Retail

  • Develop long term and collaborative partnerships with LCBO employees at all levels of store organization for core assigned stores;

  • Create special partnership with store Product Consultants – who should be visited on each call;

  • Represent iconic wine & spirits brands with pride, act as a local ambassador for all our suppliers;

  • Communicate key product information with special attention to programming to key stakeholders at stores;

  • Build brand image and awareness through brand education with retail store employees by conducting tastings and brand presentations.  In some cases, you may be required to present at district meetings;

  • Leverage AWSM brand and competitive sales data to maximize opportunities and aid in pitches within retail and on-trade network;

  • Grow retail distribution for Authentic LCBO Wines, VINTAGES Essentials and spirits within assigned accounts;

  • In accordance with merchandising standards set by AWSM, ensure that brands have maximum retail visibility in stores with relevant product information advertised and promoted;

  • Secure discretionary displays achieving set goals and targets for assigned focus brands and maximize opportunities for non-priority brands to drive overall territory performance;

  • Ensure VINTAGES Frontline release distribution and sell-through in retail stores as well as appropriate merchandising;

  • Conduct store audits on each and every call;

  • Monitor, track and report competitive activity within the market;

  • Grow on-premises base for Toronto as needed and directed by Sales Manager, including the sale of LCBO, VINTAGES and Consignment wines;

  • Required to attend, participate, and possibly present in all quarterly meetings.

     

     

     

     

  1. Management/Administrative & Other Responsibilities: 

     

  • Record and manage daily activities through CHG CRM system ensuring accurate records;

  • Maintain accurate and current account data base through CRM;

  • Work to maximize budgets available and manage expenses within company guidelines;

  • Submit weekly planning, and daily mapping of achievements on your tablet;

  • Participation in supplier events and Ontario wine shows or events as required;

  • This position requires flexible hours and will sometimes require nights and weekends with Trade Shows, Supplier Dinners/Events outside of regular work days.
