We are looking for an experienced, results-oriented sales leader to join our team as Field Sales Manager British Columbia. This role which is based in Burnaby, is responsible for coaching our team to successfully exceeding their targets as well as calling on specific chain customers in BC.  The BC Field Sales Manager position is an opportunity to join a passionate team and work collaboratively with marketing and sales management to post growth in the BC market.

Job Summary:

The primary function of this role is to manage and motivate the sales team, execute day to day coaching and mentoring responsibilities for the sales team, and develop the sales teams in the “AWSM way”. Ensure that the teams overachieve on targets and deliver on the volume committed to the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Responsible for teams achieving quarterly goals and targets and annual KPI’s

·       Be the first point of contact person for sales team communication on targets, territories, account issues and consolidate as needed for management reporting

·       Conduct bi-weekly sales meetings for the BC team. 

·       Perform the established number of coaching days per rep, per quarter.

·       Coach against AWSM execution standards and lead in the AWSM way. Review and make recommendations for ongoing improvements.

·       Take ownership of region and be confident in recommending adjustments in go to market strategy to the Director of Sales for consideration.

·       Stay within assigned sales budgets as well as operating budgets by reviewing monthly updates. Ensure funds are being spent ethically and along the lines of the provincial liquor regulations.

·       Participate with Marketing to drive the established G&T processes.

·       Plan and lead quarterly rollout meeting.  Keep meetings fresh for the team by continually reviewing format and locations.   

·       Participate in weekly marketing meetings. Bring forward field feedback, product distribution or portfolio gap recommendations to capture incremental volume.

·       Always be on the lookout to stock the cupboard with future sales reps

·       Ensure a backfill/mentoring plan is in place for critical sales positions. Consider what training needs are required to achieve plan and set necessary follow-ups.

·       Conduct / participate in the monthly sales review process.

·       Responsible for ensuring supplier itineraries are updated weekly by the Sales Coordinator.

Vancouver Chain account responsibilities:

·       Call on set BC Retail & On Premise chain head offices and build annual plans to grow core brand sales. Liaise with Marketing to find new sku opportunities including developing custom pricing, programming for current brands and working with office team to pitch new brands for incremental volume. Provide head office follow up executional details to the sales team for completion.

Reporting Structure:

·       Direct supervision of all BC sales reps

Job Qualifications:

·       Experience: University degree in Sales, Marketing, Business or equivalent discipline and/or minimum of 4 years sales or management experience of a large wine & spirits portfolio or other important consumer products.  Supervisory or team lead experience in a related or complimentary field.  You will have a portfolio of examples of your sales work to date. 

·       Skills: Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Must be highly organized, and display excellent motivation and leadership abilities.  You should be prepared to provide examples of your written work.  You must have great PC skills (Windows: Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and be able to extensively use the AWSM web based applications for sales and planning activities.  Must be able to juggle multiple situations, and be self motivated and able to work independently. 

·       Knowledge:  Expert knowledge of the liquor industry (both wine and spirits products as well as governmental policy and regulations) is preferred.  Successful completion of several wine and spirit courses is desirable (such as WSET) and will be required if hired.

·       Physical: Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and travel (includes overnight stays).  Must be physically fit and be able to lift and carry 41+ pounds and able to build displays or handle heavy POS material.

·       Other: Other: Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s license in the Province employed, have their own vehicle and must meet the Company’s automobile insurance requirements.  Must have and maintain a valid Canadian Passport along with a Serving it Right certification.

Base salary plus incentive bonus, car allowance and benefits commensurate with experience.
