POSITION TITLE: Cellar master, Legacy Liquor Store

POSITION SUMMARY:
Legacy Liquor Store’s Cellar Master oversees the Cellar room, where all our most premium wines are kept. They will be providing our customers with helpful, knowledgeable advice in an enthusiastic, upbeat, and unpretentious manner. The candidate must be a wine and retail professional with extensive wine knowledge (minimum WSET Level 3 or equivalent certification), must demonstrate a “fly-to-the-ball” approach to service and demonstrating initiative and drive during slower times. They maintain Legacy standards of service and professionalism, ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through provision of excellent service, and drive sales and foster growth through continual development (formal and informal) of product knowledge.
Legacy Liquor Store Cellar Master areas of responsibilities include but are not limited to: Buying wine for the cellar room, customer service, meeting with agents and tasting potential addition to the portfolio, maintain cellar price list & inventory, maintain room tidiness and cleanliness, handle merchandising and display of the room. The selected candidate will also be part of the wine team and participate in the department everyday task such as stocking, product recommendation, merchandising, product list maintenance.

WORK PERFORMED:
● Customer service & product recommendation.
● Cellar room buying
● Cellar room maintenance (inventory, cleanliness, display, price list,…)
● Product training (train staff from all departments on new and existing products as part of weekly training, train new staff on products and brands styles, plan staff training with agents whenever possible)
● Receiving & stocking deliveries
● Merchandising (planogram, pricing, building displays)
● Maintain list with product information (tech sheet, organic, points & rating,…)
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
● At least 2 years of experience in a Hospitality/Liquor retail environment
● Familiarity with BC liquor laws
● Minimum WSET 3 or equivalent
● Computer/POS proficiency
● Excellent professional presentation and communication skills—additional language(s) an asset
● SIR Certification
● Cash / credit card handling experience
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position requires a strong presence on the sales floor. Candidate must be comfortable standing for long periods of time, be comfortable repeatedly lifting cases of wine, beer, and spirits (up to 20 kg), be comfortable kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders, and have experience with various POS systems. Shifts required include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
