Director of Sales – Job Description

 
Supervisor Position Title: General Manager, Western Canada
Number of employees to supervise: 9 direct 

Dandurand is a Canadian company with sales representation in all provinces, specialized in importing wines from various countries around the world and known for producing high quality products.

Their purpose is to promote and commercialize high quality wines in order to make them leaders within their respective categories. With over 100 employees, Dandurand is the largest family owned company in the field of importing wines in Canada.

Role:

Reporting to the General Manager for the West, the Sales Manager is responsible for the direction, development and management of the sales territories and operations of the province. They are also responsible for implementing effective and innovative strategies, respecting the integrity of the Dandurand brand.

 

Tasks and responsibilities of the position:

• Deliver on National and Regional Targets

• Create and develop sales strategies, methods and operational plans for the sales and distribution of wines in the Dandurand portfolio

• Monitor the execution of pricing strategies, replenishment, operational efficiencies and programs to achieve sales objectives

• Lead the regional sales team and promote a culture of success, accountability, professional development, high performance and ethics

• Work closely with the Director of Marketing to develop appropriate market programs

• Conduct periodic reviews to evaluate pricing initiatives, strategies and forecast plans for performance periods

• Manage relationships with key customers and actively participate in consolidating strategic opportunities

• Clearly communicate the company priorities and ensure clear understanding by team members

• Conduct constant coaching and mentoring for each member of the sales team

• Manage a dashboard for the sales team (Distribution, promotions, performance, return on investments)

• Track and control the expenses of the Sales team


Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, related training, or equivalent in years of professional experience in a related field.

• 3+ years of experience in the management of high-performance teams

• Ability to negotiate and maintain exceptional relationships with clients and consumers both internally and externally

• Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to exercise dynamic leadership

• Strong planning and organizational skills

• Strong time management skills

• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to develop effective presentations

• Excellent presentation skills, as well as the ability to speak to a wide audience

• Dynamic and positive, the successful candidate will need leadership and charisma skills to unite and motivate the sales team

• Exceptional analytical skills

• Knowledge of budget management

• Self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines

• A keen business sense

• Availability to participate in evening and weekend events

• Demonstrate a high degree of integrity in the workplace

• Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint software

• Knowledge of Salesforce or another CRM

• Knowledge of the restaurant industry, the BCLDB, Wine, Liquor or Spirits an asset
