We are seeking a Marketing Manager within our Andrew Peller Import Agency division! 

Reporting into the Import Portfolio Manager, West, our future teammate will be responsible for assisting with setting strategies, by sales channel, for API's portfolio, as well   assisting with the development of strategies that drive trade marketing initiatives for API wine brands aligning API initiatives with Liquor Boards, grocery and private customers.  

We are looking for a teammate with:

  • Degree/Certificate in Marketing or a related discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2 years of related work or internship experience
  • Experience/knowledge of premium wine/spirits industry a significant asset
  • Creative, detail oriented, analytical, strategic thinker and able to work under tight timelines
  • Critical thinking and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to execute and coordinate a broad range of projects from long term planning to short term immediate
  • Proficient in Microsoft platform, Excel, Word Power Point and Adobe Illustrator, InDesign
  • Flexible work hours to attend industry related event or functions with some evening and weekend work as related to wine industry functions
  • Some travel, both domestic and international may be required 

This teammate will be accountable for:

  • Develop Trade marketing initiatives for all national channels including new listings, display applications, and shelf programs; creating innovative trade programming that will ensure API executes within each sales channel.
  • Development and present (to regional sales team) of annual marketing plans building brand equity and profitable sales for API's portfolio of brands.
  • Responsible for developing in-trade programs and sell-in presentations; as well, development and management of corporate presentations to key customers internal and external.
  • Works with sales managers and logistics manager to ensure sufficient supply to support upcoming marketing initiatives and relevant marketing support for quarterly sales/distribution objectives.
  • Lead the development of marketing trade tools including POS development and creation, sell sheets, in store merchandising programs ensuring brand messages are consistent with brand positioning.
  • Conducts post-game analysis on marketing driven projects & trade marketing initiatives to ensure brand profitability in each sales channel.
  • Works with Managing Director, Import Portfolio Managers (West) and sales management team in managing Merchandising Calendars for all core wines listed in Western Canada, including price promotion and trade activity (display).
  • Responsible for key account presentations on new brand launches & key display activity (LDB, Savvy Shopper, MBLL AM, SLGA shelf extenders).
  • Responsible for updating/maintaining the price lists, brand fact sheets and media kit components.
  • Responsible for social media initiatives to promote brand engagement (Twitter).
  • Develops and manages Supplier Visit Itineraries and is the Key contact to media and monopolies, providing up to date images and information.
  • Responsible for Media Wine drops working with Marketing Manager to create media drop calendar, coordination of wine samples, information spreadsheets and sending out to designated media.
