Operations Manager (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

We are seeking an organized Operations Manager to join Dream Wines, a small but growing wine import agency based in North Vancouver. Dream Wines represents some of the most famous and iconic wineries from around the world. We ensure that these special wines are imported and distributed effectively in our markets in Western Canada.

Together with the office administrator, the operations manager ensures a seamless importation of wine and acts as the point of contact for the liquor boards, freight forwarders, warehousing companies, industry groups, and the BC and Alberta Sales Teams.

The role includes but is not limited to:

  • Working closely with the BC Sales Manager and Office Administrator
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key contacts at liquor boards, industry groups, and wineries for Western Canada
  • Managing logistics with third party warehousers and freight forwarding companies
  • Liaising with wineries around the world regarding products, POs, and site visits.
  • Troubleshooting and solving any logistic issues or difficulty in a cost effective manner
  • Monitoring forecasts and ensuring availability of products
  • Completing monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory reports for review leadership
  • Handling customs clearance of wine samples and promo goods
  • Maintaining the BC samples inventory
  • Creating weekly email offers for client base in Western Canadian 
  • Engaging in Social Media
  • Leading weekly BC Sales team meeting
  • Participating in special events such as wine tastings or trade shows as required

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Basic wine knowledge and an interest in wine.
  • Office administration and/or management experience.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel and Word, or Mac OS.
  • Business degree, college diploma in business administration (or equivalent), bookkeeping certificate.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage workload independently and ability to prioritize as necessary.
  • High attention to detailproblem solving and logical thinking.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel locally when required for business purposes.
  • Social media engagement for business support.
  • Serving-It-Right or equivalent.
  • Cell phone (allowance provided).
  • Computer/ laptop.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Vehicle.

Work hours: 

Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (40 hrs/week) at our office in North Vancouver. Dream Wines offers market competitive base salary along with employee benefits including extended health care coverage.
