Ramification Cellars, a quality-focused new winemaking venture on the shore of Vaseux Lake, is seeking experienced, energetic, and driven individuals to join the winery’s hospitality team. The Tasting Room Associates at Ramification Cellars greet and host the public and assist in all aspects of the Tasting Room to ensure a memorable guest experience. The primary functions of this position are promoting the sale of wine and Wine Club memberships and providing excellent customer service and wine education to our guests. Applicants must be able to work weekdays/weekends 10AM-6:00 PM, with the flexibility to work holidays and evenings. Must be able to stand for 8 hours and lift to 50 pounds.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide seamless and gracious hospitality for all guests: welcome guests, educate and present the Ramification Cellars wine portfolio.
• Share knowledge about all wines and merchandise in an open and friendly manner with the goal of helping customers develop enthusiasm and appreciation of our wines.
• Promote the sale of Ramification Cellars wines and drive new memberships to the Wine Club.
• Performs sales transactions using a POS System and follow the transaction procedure accurately.
• Assist guests with transporting purchases to their vehicle or arrange for pick-up, shipment or delivery.
• Collect names and email addresses for future contact.
• Ensure that merchandise displays and tasting bar are kept in immaculate condition and re-stock supplies as required.
• Occasionally assist with winery special events, including wine and food service.
KEY COMPETENCIES
• Hospitality experience, preferably with a wine industry focus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a genuine desire to help guests in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
• Ability to work under pressure and on tight deadlines and to multi-task effectively.
• Two or more years’ experience in a high-end or luxury class winery hospitality setting or related luxury field preferred.
• Enthusiasm and appreciation for fine wines with the ability to discuss viticulture and enology comfortably. • Ability to communicate with guests in a confident, knowledgeable, warm and friendly manner
• Strong knowledge and passion for small production wines and an understanding of the winemaking process
• Ability to work independently as well as a cohesive member of the team
