Wine Access magazine, one of Canada’s leading wine magazines, seeks an editorial assistant for a permanent, full-time position in our Calgary office.
Are you a professional journalist with a passion for wine, and an interest in pursuing that passion further? Are you an engaging writer and tenacious fact-checker interested in bringing the printed word to various multimedia platforms? In this role, you will do interviews, write, research, proofread and fact-check for Wine Access magazine and our yearly publication, the Canadian Wine Annual. Other responsibilities include sourcing photos, various administrative tasks, such as picking up items for photo shoots and helping with various website, database and social media needs.
You’ll also help coordinate the Canadian Wine Awards and International Value Wine Awards; occasional travel, especially during awards season, is required.
Wine Access is an award-winning magazine published six times a year by RedPoint Media Group, one of Western Canada’s largest independent publishers. Our award-winning magazines include up!, WestJet’s in-flight magazine and Avenue, Calgary’s award-winning city lifestyle magazine, as well as custom publications for businesses, arts organizations and other clients.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a post-secondary education in journalism or a related field, as well as related professional experience. The candidate must be able to write, edit and proofread effectively, have great communication skills and impeccable organization skills. Proven ability to work in a deadline driven environment and to manage multiple tasks.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign and InCopy and various Mac suites is required. A working knowledge of French, Italian or Spanish would be a bonus.
