JOB FUNCTION:
A Bell/Valet is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the Front Office and Guest Services department from the hotel lobby to guest parking lots to room floors. This includes continually maintaining and exceeding all standards of service and guest satisfaction as outlined in the Bell-Valet Job Standard. He/she also promotes a positive image of The Listel Hotel by interacting with the guests in a positive and hospitable manner, and addressing problems or special requests in a gracious way.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• To be responsible for presenting themselves as well-groomed, well-spoken individuals and ambassadors for The Listel Hotel
• To be stationed in the lobby at all times, unless occupied with other job-related tasks.
• To greet and acknowledge guests and visitors arriving to the hotel in a professional and friendly manner.
• To ensure that the front of the hotel and lobby is clean, tidy and safe.
• To assist guests with delivering and retrieving their items.
• To be fully knowledgeable about the Hotel and its features.
• To provide concierge services for guests and visitors.
• To ensure the security of all guests and their belongings.
• To be responsible for parking and retrieving guest and transient vehicles in the secured hotel parking lot.
• To maintain a valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
• To ensure that the guests’ vehicles are properly secured
• To register guest vehicles and to ensure appropriate charges are applied.
• To ensure guest’s valuables are properly secured in the hotel’s designated storage area.
• To monitor the floors, stairwells, and both the public and secured lots for any suspicious activities.
• To ensure that all supplies in the Bellman storage and Front Office are sufficiently stocked and the area is tidy.
• To participate in the process of training newly hired staff in the Bellman department.
• To maintain effective communication with Hotel Staff and Management.
• To assist the Front Desk with answering phone calls within 3 rings and any other tasks to the best of our abilities.
• To adhere to all Listel Hotel policy and procedures.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Bondable is required
• Physical mobility and stamina is required (must be able to lift 25 kg)
• Professional attitude required
• Good communication skills in English are required
• Ability to follow instructions & work independently is required
• Good organizational and time management skills is required
• Attention to detail is required
• A secondary school diploma is preferred
• Previous customer service experience is preferred
• Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) is an asset
• Appreciation of the arts is an asset
• Second Language is an asset
