Phantom Creek Estates is a highly anticipated new winery located on the famed Black Sage Bench of British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley, we specialize in single vineyard Bordeaux reds and Alsatian whites. By farming our vineyards with care and precision, Phantom Creek Estates produces wines that celebrate and speak to where they are grown. The winery’s Estate vineyards are in transition to organic and biodynamic certification.
We are seeking a creative Sous Chef to be based in the winery on Black Sage Road in Oliver, British Columbia.
Reporting to the Chef, the essential functions for this role are:
· Assists in the planning, design, coordination, and organizational phases of all food production
· Develops, designs, or creates new applications, ideas, relationship, systems, or products, including artistic contributions
· Assists in determining how food is presented and create decorative displays
· Plans and organizes special events in collaboration with the Chef
· Performs all the tasks of a Chef if required
· Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of products offered including wine & spirits, food recipes, prices, presentation, and internal control procedures

The successful candidate qualifications are:
· Formal culinary training or associate degree in culinary arts
· 4+ years of culinary management experience
· Solid wine knowledge to pair foods well with PCE wines
· Demonstrated experience providing outstanding hospitality
· Strong menu engineering skills showcasing innovative and trendsetting items
· Flexible schedule including the ability to workdays, evenings, weekends, holidays and extended shifts
