Duties include but are not limited to:
- reports directly to the Chef of the restaurant
- prepares food for the restaurant, events, and offsite functions
- assists chef in providing professional leadership and direction to kitchen staff
- works under the direction of the Restaurant Manager in absence of the chef
- maintains a safe, orderly and clean kitchen
- demonstrates by example using proper food handling techniques
- assist chef in creation of the menu
- ensure proper storage of food meeting all government guidelines
- assist chef with scheduling, inventory and ordering
- provides a positive and respectful work environment
- works in alignment with the direction of the chef, and executive team
- assist in recruitment and maintaining of staff
- learn and understand all the uses of the kitchen equipment
- coach, mentor, and learn from the team
