S’milka Vista Vineyards
S’milka Vista Vineyards is a Similkameen winery located in South Cawston. We specialize in Viognier, Syrah and the red Bordeaux grape varieties. Our focus is on producing terroir driven wines, with an emphasis on detail in our sustainable farming so that the wines we produce can be produced with minimal human intervention.
As we continue to grow, we are looking to add a tasting room manager to our team. This individual will be responsible for the hospitality experience at S’milka Vista, maintaining daily operations, and leading our customer service operation. This role offers the opportunity to cross-train in the vineyard and cellar which would round the position and possibly lend to full-time year round employment.
Responsibilities
Tasting Room (40%)

Guide educational tastings
-
Increase newsletter contacts and grow sales

Maintain cleanliness of tasting room and surrounding areas

Set and adhere to tasting room budgets and forecasts

FulfillFulfil daily, weekly, and monthly reporting

Pack and ship online and wholesale orders as required
Events and Promotion (40%)
-
Assist the Sales and Marketing Manager with events and promotions

Manage and execute on-site events
-
Occasionally represent the winery at off-site events
-
Lead media and trade tours and tastings
-
Liaise with key partners, including hotel concierges and wine tour operators
Vineyard & Cellar (20%)

Assist the Vineyard Manager with seasonal vineyard work as needed

Occasional tasks may include pruning, weeding, plucking

Assist the Winemaker with harvest as required

Tasks may include fruit processing, punchdowns, barrel topping, sanitizing, lab analysis
Qualifications
-
Serving it Right
-
Completion of WSET or equivalent considered an asset
-
Wine experience preferred
-
Proven managerial skills in a supervisory role

Commitment to detail-oriented hospitality

Ability to budget and meet sales targets

Experience using Commerce7 (or other POS/CRM platform) an asset

Ability to lift 40lbs comfortably and repeatedly
-
Comfortable standing for long periods of time
