Overview
We are seeking a Harvest Intern to join our team at Ravine Vineyard Estate Winery. Reporting to the Winemaker, the Harvest Intern will work as part of the team to safely and efficiently complete all cellar harvest activities. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the unique history and terroir of Ravine Vineyard Estate Winery. This position will be working closely with an award-winning winemaker dedicated to sustainability and quality in every vintage. This is a contract position but could transition into permanent employment for the right candidate.
Role and Responsibilities
- Participates in harvest activities including receiving and crushing grapes.
- Operates equipment to crush, press and process grapes.
- Monitors press pans, cleans crusher & press.
- Carries out additions and inoculations to juice and wine.
- Transfers juice and wine volumes using a variety of pumps and hoses.
- Cleans and sanitizes tanks, processing equipment, and cellar areas.
- Performs barrel work including cleaning, rehydrating, filling and storing barrels.
- Assists in daily fermentation checks and temperature checks.
- May be required to operate equipment to perform pump overs and punch downs.
- Following written and/or oral procedures and policies, reporting any deviations.
- Reads, understands, and completes paperwork efficiently and accurately.
- Follows all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) set forth by the Winemaker.
- Maintains a safe, clean, and healthy work environment; follows current health and safety regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Educational & Experience Requirements
- Authorization to work in Canada
- Valid G class license
- Enrollment or completion of a Winery and Viticulture or similar program considered an asset.
- Experience in crush work including barrel experience considered an asset.
- Forklift Operator Certificate and Confined Space Certification considered an asset.

- Physical: Operate winemaking equipment, work outdoors and indoors in hot and cold climates, regularly lift or move objects over 55LBS.
Schedule
· Available to work daytime, evening, weekends, weekdays and holidays as required.
$19 - $22.00 per hour; dependent on experience
