About Us:
Jason Parkes Customs is a collective of like-minded individuals centered around a philosophy of hard work, creativity, and community. We operate the Hatch, Black Swift Vineyards, Truck 59 Ciderhouse, Crown & Thieves, Salt & Thieves, and the Hatching Post. We are looking for a new member to join our fun fuelled accounting department. A CPA designation is an asset and a love for crushing numbers is a must! We are a smaller department in a fast-growing company. There’s never a lack of new things to learn and we are always keen to improve our processes.
Job Summary:
Responsible for assisting with full cycle accounting duties. Working within our casual environment, you will be a dynamic team player willing to learn all areas of the business. The right candidate will have previous accounting experience, willingness to learn the full scope of the department, and aptitude to learn and work with a multitude of various programs.
Job Expectations and Qualifications:
• Assist and prepare month end internal financials and reports including bank reports, budget, forecasting, location analytics
• Costing of bulk and finished inventory – wine, cider, beer
• Year end processes and financials
• Support accounts receivable and accounts payables functions
• Assist with/prepare/review company remittances, reconciliations, journal entries
• Responsible for inventory controls and support staff with counts and maintenance
• High level of problem solving
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• Have an eagerness to learn
• Team player mentality
• Support payroll functions – processing and benefits upkeep
• Sage 50 experience is an asset
• Personal vehicle to travel to and from various locations (reimbursed for fuel)
Necessary Requirements:
• CPA designation
• The willingness to be pro-active and wear many hats within the company
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting
• 2+ years accounting experience
• Excel and Word program skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and juggle a busy schedule
• Excellent communication skills written and oral
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Excellent organizational skills
