Church & State Wines in Oliver is seeking an Assistant Wine Shop Manager, effective March 1, 2023 until October 31, 2023.  The Assistant Wine Shop Manager works a minimum of 30 hours a week, working 40 hours a week during peak season.

 

Job Description:         

•Engage with guests on a one on one basis educating and telling our winery story in an effective and dynamic way through tastings and promoting sales/wine club

•Responsible for the daily operations of the tasting room including maintaining wine & merchandise levels, POS system use and cash out, organization & cleanliness

• Open the wine shop and ensure staff is aware of the daily appointments and flow for the day

• Organize, set up, and aid in/or conduct tours and tastings, lead VIP tours and tastings

           

Preferred qualifications/skills:                                                                                               

·         Solid wine knowledge – WSET considered an asset                                      

·         Good computer skills                                                                                     

·         Must be able to lift 40 lb cases of wine and able to stand for extended periods of time 

·         Serving it Right certificate     

 

Compensation:

Hourly wage dependent upon experience.  Staff wine discounts offered.  Gratuities are redistributed in a tip pool.  Season end bonus for the candidate who stays until the end of the contract.
