French Door Winery is a growing premium organic winery located in Oliver, B.C.; showcasing the wines of the talented Pascal Madevon and Bree Toor. We are a small, hard-working team dedicated to quality in both service and the wines we produce.
This is a multi-disciplinary position that requires a high level of self-organization and multitasking abilities. You must have the ability to create and maintain your own schedule.
As Manager, you will lead our team to help educate visitors, provide unforgettable wine tastings and tell our story. Your passion and dedication will help continue our success to being one of Canada’s top wineries.
Wineshop Duties
Daily staff briefings
Hire seasonal staff for the busy season
Develop and execute ways to grow and maintain the wine club and over-all sales
Ability to handle customer service expectations and maintain a relaxed and positive manner
Maintain Health & Safety compliance throughout the team
Reporting to the company owner and Winemaker directly
Ensure staff training in all policy and procedures.
Create staff schedules on a timely basis to ensure adequate staffing levels.
Provide coaching, training and ongoing feedback for the Tasting room staff.
Monitor wine inventory and merchandise to ensure the correct inventory and supplies are in place.
Manage instore wine shipments.
Maintain accurate product and pricing information in the POS system. (Winedirect)
Key point of contact for Tour companies.
Co-ordinating bar tastings, wine tastings, and other VIP Food and Wine experiences.
Reviewing and reconciling day-end cash outs, including tips
Responsible for monitoring wine sales, wine club sales and reporting functions
Administrative Duties
Keeping up to date with customer relations and emails
Sales inventory and records of all products (in-house and Richmond warehouse)
Payroll reporting, bimonthly
Coordinate wine club shipments and events
Working with marketing for events, newsletters, and other media
Reporting and coordinating sales to LDB, Direct Sales Reporting
Reporting to WorkSafe BC
Manage the Tock Reservation System
Aiding the production team with VQA inputting and paperwork - SKU registration, UPC, SCC
Working with RDOS & government to maintain and update licences
Job Qualifications
A Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Hospitality, Event Management, Tourism, or related
WSETS or similar educational knowledge of wine
2-3 years of supervisory/ leadership experience in a hospitably environment
Proven experience in coordinating customer hosting or events
A passion for premium customer service and creating engaging experiences
Proficiency in Excel and Office products to communicate information efficiently
Experience with Winedirect or similar wine sales software
Ability to lift 25Kg
Aid and oversee training of all new staff with the Winemaker
