About Us:
Lightning Rock Winery is an independently owned estate, passionate about holistic farmland stewardship and crafting natural, expressive, living wines. We strive for balance and sustainability in all we do. Our sparkling wine program makes up half of our 2500 annual case production, along with Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Viognier, Rosé and Syrah. We are the lucky stewards of three unique vineyards in Summerland, BC. Each site expresses very distinct terroir through the wines, despite being located mere kilometres apart.

Responsibilities include:

  • Hosting and engaging guests in beyond-expectations experiences, while educating them about our wines, offerings, and anecdotes
  • Opening and closing duties
  • Promoting sales of wine, merchandise, and ticketed events
  • Promote Wine Club memberships
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of Tasting Room and guest-facing facilities
  • Shipping
  • Inventory
  • Polish glassware
  • Contribute to Social Media 
  • Assist with winery-hosted events
  • Assist with harvest (picking fruit)

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Understanding of biodynamic, organic and regenerative farming practices
  • Serving It Right Certification 
  • 19 years +
  • Minimum 1 year in hospitality or retail environment
  • Wine education (WSET, ISG, or equivalent)
  • Wine Direct or POS experience considered an asset
  • Access to reliable transportation to and from the winery
  • Canadian work eligibility (No overseas applicants, please)
  • Flexible work hours (available to work days, weekends, and evenings as needed)
  • Ability to safely lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time

Job types: 

  • 1 x Full-time (35+ hours/ week) 
  • 2 x Part-time (15-30 hours/ week)
  • Seasonal (April to November)
  • $19 - $23 per hour, depending on experience level + TIPS
