Queenston Mile Vineyard, a division of Diamond Estates Wines & Spirits, located in Niagara-on-the-Lake may be small in size, but is filled with dedicated individuals who are passionate about their award-winning wines and the experience provided to visitors on the unique property.
We are seeking an inspirational and energetic leader to join our team in the role of Retail Sales Manager. This role is vital in the overall sales of events and the performance of the wine boutique. Responsible for selling events and operations of the wine boutique, including selling the venue for wedding and corporate clients, reporting, staffing, and visitor experience.
Summary of Responsibilities
Sales – Wedding & Corporate
- Communicate with all potential clients and actively sell the winery as a full-service event facility through all sales channels.
- Work with leadership to set targets and plans to achieve objectives/goals.
- Collaborate with catering partner to ensure smooth transition to complete the sale
Retail Sales / Reporting
- Lead Retail Associates to achieve/exceed sales objectives.
- Report on weekly forecast vs. sales and respond accordingly where action is required.
- Provide insight geared around the generation of sales including promotions and staff incentives and programs.
Staffing
- Manage and develop a team of associates capable of executing sales plans.
- Participate in seasonal recruitment when necessary.
Visitor Experience
- Consistently deliver a memorable customer service experience which co-relates to sales.
Events Management
- Evaluate new event opportunities as they arise in conjunction with the marketing team.
- Plan according to budget including staffing, participation fees, signage, POS materials.
- Provide post-event reporting including summary and recommendations.
Wine Club / DTC
- Develop annual wine club targets in conjunction with Regional Manager, including a calendar of events and club communication program.
- Lead and motivate associates to sell wine club and understand value of loyalty program.
Requirements:
- College degree/diploma preferably in sales or event management.
- 1-3 years’ experience in a sales management/supervisory role.
- Experience working within the wine industry considered an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software. (Excel, Word)
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with a proven ability to manage a team.
- Strong organizational, time management skills and an attention to detail.
- Concise verbal and written communication skills.
- Smart Serve Certificate and Food Handlers Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Access to reliable transportation as property is located remotely from public transport.
