Lightfoot & Wolfville is a family-owned, organic and biodynamic farm winery located in the heart of the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia on Canada’s Atlantic coast. Our vineyards are on land stewarded by our family for four generations, with farming roots in the region extending back eight generations. Today, our focus is on crafting expressive, cool-climate wines that reflect our unique terroir - including traditional method sparkling wines, aromatic whites, and classically styled Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
We are seeking a Cellar Hand to join our passionate winemaking team for the 2025 harvest season (with potential for a longer-term position). This is a hands-on role that supports all aspects of winery operations - from fruit receival through to bottling - with an emphasis on care, cleanliness and attention to detail. Must have the legal ability to work in Canada and have a flexible schedule throughout harvest season.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist with vineyard sampling, grape processing, fermentation, pressing, racking, lab and barrel work

Sanitize and maintain winery equipment and tanks to the highest standards

Operate pumps, hoses, filters, and other cellar equipment safely and efficiently

Conduct wine and juice transfers, additions, and monitoring as directed

Maintain accurate records and follow all SOPs and safety protocols

Support bottling, labeling, and packaging operations

Perform general winery and facility cleaning and upkeep

Contribute to a team culture focused on quality, sustainability, and continuous learning
Qualifications & Attributes:

Prior winery or beverage production experience is an asset but not required

Positive attitude and the ability to work long hours during peak harvest

Comfort with physical work: lifting, standing, climbing, and working in a wet environment

Keen attention to detail and cleanliness

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Interest in wine, agriculture, and sustainable production practices

Forklift certification is an asset
