Harvest Assistant (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

The Organized Crime Winery is looking to hire one harvest assistant for the upcoming 2019 vintage.

We are a small 5000 case winery, with 30 acres of vineyards located on the beautiful upper slope of the Beamsville Bench in Niagara. We have a varied portfolio offering the chance to work with Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. We expect to process 60T of premium grapes from our estate this vintage.

The harvest assistant will become an integral part of our small team, working with the winemaker in every aspect of the winemaking process. Duties will include, vineyard sampling, fruit receival, sorting, ferment monitoring/management, racking, barrel work, lab analysis, and cleaning. There will also be the possibility of extra vineyard and bottling work.

Experience is preferred but not necessary, training will be provided to the right candidate. Most importantly the applicant will have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, a passion for wine, and the ability to work well within our small team.

Depending on vintage conditions, this hourly position will run 10-12 weeks, from September until late November or early December. Applicants must be legally able to work in Canada. Please apply by emailing your resume, cover letter and two most recent references.
