Peninsula Ridge Estates Winery
Peninsula Ridge Estates is seeking a senior accounting manager. This individual will have effective communication skills who enjoys working as a part of a team in fast paced environment that includes wine production and sales with revenue streams from two wineries, one food and beverage facility and banquet operations. The candidate must execute financial modelling as well as measure, analyze and forecast performance in conjunction with operating plans. Must be able to effectively advise management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives and prepare reports for management.
You will interact with team members in areas such as forecasting, performance reporting and expense management.
You will use your knowledge and skills to prepare and consolidate financial statements, analyze and reconcile accounts, analyze cash flow, build budgets and forecasts, and manage internal control maintenance.
You need to be highly adept at analytics and working in a challenging face-pace environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Complete monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables that includes journal entries, bank reconciliations and reporting
- monthly bank reporting including balance sheet, monthly P&L and other required reports
- continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
- analyze financial information and report on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
- provide monthly consolidated P&L and Balance Sheet analysis for management reporting
- present balance sheet reconciliations
- command of annual budget process
- all payroll responsibilities
- daily and weekly tracking and reconciliation of costs based on source documents
- record inventory counts
- reconcile inventory balances
- responsible for financial entries including billing and collections
- oversee and supervise, daily cash reconciliation, accounts receivable and accounts payable
Requirements:
- in the 4thyear towards obtaining CPA designation, 3+ years of overall general accounting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Financial Accounting in the Ontario Wine Industry prefered
- previous manufacturing, job costing and inventory experience would be considered a strong asset
- must have excellent time management skills
- seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
- Cost accounting experience highly preferred
Proficient with the following software packages:
- Vast experience with Quickbooks
- Microsoft Office particularly Excel and Word
