Retail Cider Sales (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

FieldBird Cider is seeking a self-starting team player for our retail staff. We are a farm and cidery, opened in Bloomfield in August 2019. We are focused on organic and biodynamic farming practices while making great traditional ciders, both still and sparkling. We need a person who is enthusiastic about cider and great with people. We’re big coffee drinkers too, but that’s not a must. We will train, and compensation includes a lot of coffee or tea--but not solely.

Status

Begin as part time and move to full time during the busiest part of the season


Reports to

Sales & Communication Director


Primary Responsibilities

  • Run the retail counter, including POS use

  • Conduct outdoor tastings, cognizant of safe COVID-19 protocols

  • Fulfill online and licensee orders

  • Maintain a tidy retail space

  • Open and close the retail store

  • Provide excellent customer service

  • Count and report inventory

  • Restock inventory

  • Maintain COVID-19 safety protocols with both employees and customers


Secondary Responsibilities

  • Occasional bottling assistance

  • Bottle labelling + packaging

  • Occasional local deliveries

 

The Ideal Team Member

  • Is Smart Serve certified;

  • Is able to lift up to 40 pounds;

  • Can stand for long periods as necessary;

  • Is available on weekends and holidays;

  • Has an organizational mind;

  • Can make coffee (just kidding);

  • Some service or related industry experience (1+ year is ideal);

  • Has own transportation
