The Category Manager is BCL’s point person and expert in all aspects of a category of beverage alcohol and in-store products. The Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of assigned sub-categories. This involves creating product assortments and leading the evaluation, selection and merchandising of products to achieve corporate objectives, sales, and gross margin targets. The Category Manager is accountable for the financial results of the product category.
A criminal record check is required. Candidates must have the ability to travel overnight within the Province of British Columbia and internationally.
An eligibility list for permanent or temporary future opportunities may be established.
Position requirements:
Education and Experience:
Diploma or Certificate related to category management, merchandising or a related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of recent, related experience*.
OR
Minimum of 7 years of recent, related experience* will be considered in lieu of education.
*Recent, related experience must have occurred within the last 10 years and must include the following:
- Senior management experience with an organization selling consumer products.
- Experience in category or brand management.
Preference may be given to candidates with:
· Experience working in the beverage alcohol industry with off-premises sales may be considered first.
· Experience working with a large retail brick and mortar chain (>20 locations).
Salary Range: $86,200.00 - $122,100.01 per annum
