Liquor Retail Operations, encompassing the three retail business units of Merchandising, Marketing and Store Operations, is responsible for the daily operations of the 198 BC Liquor Stores. The Retail division develops and executes key strategies to drive business, creates systems and processes, and establishes daily retail procedures to maximize operational excellence, while upholding BCLDB’s core values of service, relationships and results. The Senior Manager assists with the leadership of the merchandising department (which includes retail space planning, category management and marketing) and provides senior management leadership to retail planning and supply chain operations.  The position leads and manages all aspects of merchandise planning, inventory management and supply chain operations for BC Liquor Store (BCLS) retail products.  This involves managing relationships and working in partnership with a wide network of internal and external partners to develop, implement and monitor merchandise plans and ensure merchandise operations achieve performance targets.  The Senior Manager supervises a team of Retail Replenishment Analysts.

Position Requirements:

Education and Experience:

• A degree or diploma related to operations management, business management, merchandise planning and/or supply chain management and a minimum of 3 years of recent, related work experience*
  *Recent, related work experience within the last 7 years must include:
• Managing and conducting the retail merchandise planning and supply chain operations of a large, distributed wholesale/retail operation.
• Working in collaboration with key business partners (e.g., vendors, marketing, product managers, etc.)

Preference may be given to candidates with retail experience dealing directly with category management (i.e., liquor, grocery, pharmacy).
