Western Canada (WC) - Vice President
Job Description:
The Vice President of AWSM WC will be responsible for the AWSM operations of British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and the Yukon.
In collaboration with the President of the Charton Hobbs Group (CHG) the role of this position will be to lead the AWSM WC team and to assist and participate in all strategic planning, implementation and execution of strategies of all commercial activity in sales, marketing, logistics, and personnel operations of AWSM WC.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work in close collaboration and assist the sales managers and marketing teams in AWSM WC, ensuring that all planning and forecasting is continually monitored and updated with the latest LE information for our marketing and inventory management tools. Sales and marketing team performance management is constantly conducted by adhering to the company’s guidelines and philosophy to ensure that optimal performance is generated by all members of the sales and marketing teams;
- Coach, develop and mentor promising staff within AWSM for future assignments and promotion; all staff should be encouraged to further their education and skills;
- Schedules promotional work, strategic plans and track sales activities/results with sales manager;
- Prepares proposals and provides information and feedback on the progress and execution of set sales and marketing plans;
- Develops new business through existing brands or acquisitions;
- Compiles sales or marketing trends & reports to President of CHG on new Sales/ Marketing strategies;
- Support and compliment on-trade relationships whenever possible;
- Build and maintain favourable relations with provincial Liquor Boards, Suppliers, media and all key beverage-alcohol Industry influencers;
- Identify key issues with AWSM personnel as it relates to performance and the successful execution of the set objectives;
- Participates and assists in all aspects of marketing, sales, planning, forecasts, advertising & POS materials;
- Maintaining and building optimum Suppliers’ satisfaction;
- Manage & operate all aspects of business with a cost-conscious approach to contain costs and increase company’s profitability.
Job Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience ideally within a fast-moving consumer goods industry in either customer marketing or brand marketing roles; nationwide experience is preferable; Budgetary management experience with expertise in business software, especially with EXCEL pivot tables, BI analytics, and Office 365.
- Education: University Degree preferably with a commercial quantitative focus with Commerce, Marketing, Finance, or Business Management. Proficiency in a 2nd or 3rd language (French, Italian, Spanish) would be an asset in this position;
- Knowledge: 5 - 10 years working experience in the alcoholic beverage industry in a mid-level or senior manager position. The successful completion of several wine and spirit courses is very desirable (such as WSET 2 or 3) and will be required to be taken asap as a condition of employment. A personal desire to continue your personal development by continuing to take business and wine courses is also a required condition of employment;
- Other: Must have and maintain a valid Canadian Passport and be able to travel frequently requiring over-night trips within Canada and internationally. Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
