Account Manager (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

Dream Wines is a boutique wine import agency representing some of the most famous and iconic wineries from around the world in the Alberta and BC Markets. We also take great pride in supplying our customers with wines that are true and provide great value to end consumers.
The successful candidate for the Account Manager opening will be responsible for effectively growing Dream Wines’ business in Alberta – for both retail and on-premise. This candidate must have solid track record of exceeding targets as a salesperson, is highly respected by their clients, and follows through on the directives of the company. Working with Dream Wines means that you will be a part of fun-loving, supportive, tight-knit team, where you can have influence on company decisions and be afforded significant independence to complete your own responsibilities. In due course, the successful candidate would also have the privilege to travel around the world to visit the great wineries we represent.
Our Alberta operation is centered in Calgary, but this position can be based in Calgary or Edmonton. Most of all we are looking for someone who is responsible, a driven self-starter, and will be a cultural fit for our growing company. Summary of Key Sales Responsibilities  

  • Understand sales goals and always work to exceed sales targets.  
  • Develop and forge strong customer relationships in all sales channels.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of wines in the Dream Wines portfolio and pump clients up about them!
  • Understand and cater to your customer’s wants and needs.
  • Spend majority of the time growing business within existing accounts.
  • Proactively invest time every week to prospect and cold call new accounts to grow business.
  • Develop and execute weekly and monthly sales plans as directed and provide effective feedback to the team.
  • Be self-aware and ably adapt to market trends and specific opportunities.
  • Keep detailed track of all pouring and sampling initiatives.
  • Demonstrate fiscal responsibility with regards to business expenses.
  • Adhere to company procedures and policies.

Qualifications, Experience, and Requisites

  • 2+ years sales experience in the Alberta wine industry.
  • WSET Level 3 or equivalent level of wine knowledge.
  • Proactive self-starter who can manage workload independently and prioritize effectively.
  • Posses a true passion for wine.
  • Engaging communicator who can capture people’s attention, influence, negotiate, and present effectively.
  • Proven problem solver and ability to think on your feet.
  • Solid organizational and multitasking skills while still paying attention to detail.
  • Proven team-player and collaborator.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Application (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Valid AB Driver’s License with clean driving record.
  • Current ProServe Certification.
  • Physical ability to lift 50lbs and stand for extended periods of time.
