The Cellar is looking for a charismatic Assistant General Manager to join our team.  The Cellar is a boutique store in the heart of Calgary's historic downtown. We specialize in classic examples from the best producers around the world. We have a learning environment dedicated to providing outstanding knowledgeable customer service.

The Assistant General Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to the following;

  • Coordinating public and private events
  • Execution of public and private events
  • Managing a staff of less than 10
  • Opening and closing responsibilties
  • Upholding a budget
  • Driving sales
  • Reporting to the General Manager
  • Training staff
  • Upholding a superior level of customer service

Must have the following qualifications or characteristics;

  • Level 3 WSET preferred or equivalent
  • Must be able to lift 40 LBS
  • Class 5 drivers licence with clean abstract
  • Organized
  • Self starter
  • Professional appearance
  • Problem solving skills
  • Hospitality/service industry experience an asset
  • Management experience an asset but we are willing to train if you are the right fit.
  • Common sense
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Available Days/Nights/Weekends/Holidays
  • Able to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time

You must be able to think on your feet and work under pressure and have a laugh while doing so. We work hard and have lots of fun.

Compensation will be based on experience.
