Position Summary

Under the direction of Sales Manager, the Telephone Account Manager is responsible for maintaining a set customer base in the CRM software and performing outbound sales to deliver increased share in the Alberta and British Columbia market.


Note: This is a 12 month contract position.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage outbound calls with a primary focus on; listen to customers’ needs and make appropriate recommendations, promote our products, communicate the value of our offerings and establishing commitments from new customers.
  • Partner with the customers to understand their business and present solutions.
  • Communicate LTO’s and other programming.  
  • Meet and exceed sales targets and standards of performance as reviewed by manager monthly.
  • Maintain and manage customer account list in CRM tool and record all touch points.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled team meetings.
  • Develop a strong knowledge and insight into regional business performance trends for Spirits and Wine industries.
  • Ability to drive volume, share, and distribution in account base.
  • Potential in person calls quarterly with key customers.
  • Develop strong relationships with accounts and ensure high level of communicate.
  • Other duties as required.

  • Negotiation Skills: Ability to manage customers’ needs and requests through appropriate negotiation cycle & techniques to achieve Pernod Ricard’s objectives. 
  • Influencing & Networking: Ability to establish and develop mutually beneficial and trusting business relationships with key internal / external stakeholders through cooperation, integrity, and with strong interpersonal & presentation skills.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to consider all appropriate information, break things down and determine cause and effect relationships to make effective recommendations and develop operational actions.
  • Market & Environment: Ability to develop and maintain a deep knowledge of the business landscape and environment evolutions in order to maximize business opportunities. Focus on key players (competitors, other consumer brands companies, key customers), distribution channels (including their distinct go to market strategies) and category trends.
  • Portfolio, Brands & Products: Ability to develop and maintain a deep knowledge of Pernod Ricard’s brands and their positioning within the competitive landscape to be able to coordinate portfolio and channel strategy, and to offer adequate solution to accounts.

Other Requirements

  • University degree or college diploma
  • Wine and Spirit Industry/Product knowledge an asset
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications, computers, and computers
  • Strong time management and organization skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently while functioning cooperatively and effectively within a team environment

45,000 - 50,000 per annum + 4% vacation pay
