This position is responsible for the Charton Hobbs Alberta Sazerac spirits portfolio in regard to the overall planning and execution of marketing activities and the sales results of each of the spirit brands in the Sazerac portfolio.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Based in the Calgary office, the RMM will report to the Alberta Director of Operations and will require close collaboration and coordination with the other RMM’s across Canada, Sazerac National Brand Manager, Sazerac Market Directors, and the Provincial Sales Manager. The position requires frequent evening work in addition to the normal daytime related job functions which are split between both in and out of the office requirements. Additionally, the RMM will be required from time to time to work weekends at specific events. A moderate level of domestic and international travel is also incumbent with this position.
- Develop the provincial marketing plans for all Sazerac spirit brands consistent with the guidelines provided by the Sazerac National/International Brand Marketing, complete monthly status reports, and provide market updates as required.
- Liaise with the Alberta Director of Operations to champion the demand and supply forecasts for Sazerac spirit brands, providing pricing and other programming recommendations to ensure brand targets are met.
- Responsible for the overall Advertising and Promotion (A&P) budget for Sazerac spirits brand spending in the region, ensuring the proper monitoring of all A&P spends and corrective actions when required.
- Assist the Alberta Retail Chain Managers in the presentation and application of new listings and promotional marketing programs.
- Determine with the Alberta Sales Manager the required input resources to be allocated to core and targeted on and off premises accounts and track spending plans versus planned objectives.
- Implement and measure effectiveness of regional PR, marketing activities, and event strategies that reflect National brand goals and targets.
- Responsible for product knowledge and training of their provincial sales team, accounts, targeted high-net worth-individual groups, or other clients of the Sazerac portfolio of brands.
- Order, receive and manage the distribution and warehousing of Sazerac POS materials
Job Requirements:
- University or College degree or 3 or more years job experience directly relevant to the industry.
- Bilingual (English/French) an asset.
- A flair for creative thinking and innovation in developing brand or customer business solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, set priorities, negotiate, make presentations, and work as a team player with a diverse universe of related parties is a must.
- Strong analytical, organisation and multi-tasking capabilities, able to meet tight deadlines, and experience in managing major budgets and large-scale marketing projects.
- Intermediate to high level of IT related skills, strong PowerPoint, and Excel knowledge and able to master a working knowledge of the CH internal data systems and other reporting tools.
- Strong presentation and negotiating skills for diverse audiences.
- Available for frequent evening and weekend events (sometimes on short notice), both local and international travel – valid passport required.
- A can-do and will-do attitude
- Established trade contacts both on and off premises are a plus.
- Valid Canadian Passport
