Wine Store Sales Associate

We are seeking an experienced sales person for our new custom designed boutique wine store in west Calgary, opening in October 2023.  This position requires a knowledgeable and enthusiastic person who wants to further their career in wine.  Our goal is to create one of the best boutique wine stores in Calgary.

Responsibilities

Customer Experience

  • Maintain a clean, welcoming environment focused on customer service
  • Track and ensure timely deliveries for online purchases
  • Respond to customer complaints in a calm, clear manner
  • Assist in running a top tier tasting program
  • Aid in the development and promotion of our Wine Club

Financial

  • Learn to use our POS sytem to track and manage inventory, product delivery, and distribution
  • Help to develop budgets and themes for advertising
  • Monitor sales and aid in choosing sales products to drive financial success

Operations

  • Participate in social media development, e-flyer creation, promotions, wine club advertising and product choices, and tasting events
  • Ensure adherence to all AGLC and OHS guidelines and properly document any incidents
  • Make cerrtain that product is properly entered into POS system and that shelf pricing is accurate
  • Maintain relationships with importers and attend tastings as required
  • Focus on maintaining a clean, well-kept store with a friendly environment

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years in a retail wine store environment
  • WSET Level 2 and/or ISG Diploma level are preferred (certificates will be requested)
  • Fluent in written and oral English
  • High School Diploma
  • Able to lift 20+kg boxes
  • Eligible to work in Canada

Additional Desirable Credentials

  • Post-Secondary Education
  • Fluency in a second language
  • Skilled in MS Office
  • First Aid Certification

Compensation

  • Base Salary $45,000+ based on experience
  • Short-Term Bonus, annual grants
  • Long-Term Bonus program with annual grants, geared towards providing meaningful participation in the financial success of our store
