Renaissance Wine Merchants Ltd. started in 1983 as a local wine sales agency and importer. Since that time, the company has evolved into a leading and trusted importer for wine and spirits in Canada’s four western provinces. We are looking to add a Sales Representative in Alberta, based in Calgary.

We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual to represent and develop our hand-selected portfolio of products in all retail and on-trade sales channels. Successful Sales Representatives are results driven, highly motivated with a deep entrepreneurial streak.  

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Providing industry-leading customer service in all sales channels  

  • Developing our business in retail

  • Strategically growing our on-trade presence

  • Plan each week in advance to maximize efficiency and effectiveness

  • Carefully record and track all sales activities in our CRM platform

  • Communicate quickly and effectively on all matters

  • Host and entertain our suppliers with the utmost professionalism

  • Enthusiastically participate in sales meetings, huddles, industry and company gatherings, tastings and events

  • Secure drink features, by-the-glass and by-the-bottle placements within the on-trade channel

  • Secure distribution, displays, shelf placement and fridge placements in the retail channels

  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to maximize brand performance activities

  • Operate within a spending and promotional budget

Preferred education and experience:

  • Interest in and prior knowledge of wine and spirits

  • Direct sales experience in some capacity

  • Current or previous industry experience is highly desirable

  • Completion of College or University

  • Wine & Spirits education or credentials considered an asset

Our compensation package contains both a fixed (base salary) and variable (bonus) component. We consider our variable component to be one of the most attractive in the industry. Variable compensation is paid quarterly and offers a great opportunity for those that positively impact our business.
