Ellslea Vineyards is a 50+ acre vineyard in the Canning area of the Annapolis Valley. We grow a mixture of hybrids and vitis vinifera for the local industry with a focus on grapes for sparkling wines. We are currently looking to add a full time vineyard supervisor to our team. Someone with training and experience in viticulture is the ideal candidate. The vineyard supervisor would work closely with the Owner/Manager to efficiently grow and harvest a crop of high quality wine grapes.
Responsibilities would include but may not be limited to :
- Plan and coordinate vineyard activities with Owner/Manager
- Lead our team of vine care workers
- Regular scouting of vineyard
- Operation of vineyard equipment
Job requirements
- Viticulture training and experience
- Ability and experience to lead a team
- Good communication skills
- Ability and experience working with vineyard equipment
- Desire to upgrade and learn new skills
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings, weekends and holidays
- Ability to work extended hours at harvest
- Valid pesticide applicators licence
- Valid drivers licence
- Ability to work legally in Canada
Compensation to be discussed and related to training and experience.
