Colaneri Estate Winery is looking for an experienced, motivated, creative and enthusiastic individual to supervise our tasting room. They should be able to effectively manage up to 20 staff while encouraging growth and new concepts for our loyal and new patrons. Organization and troubleshooting skills are must have qualities when working in this fast-paced environment and a flexible schedule is preferred.
Duties for the Retail Manager include but are not limited to:
- Managing current retail employees
- Assembling an effective team of retail associates with assistance from Director of Operations
- Training new retail associates
- Scheduling of staff and covering absences
- Conducting tastings at the tasting bar when needed
- Weekly inventory of wine and merchandise
- Creating requisitions for ordering of materials
- Ensuring an unforgettable experience for all visitors of the winery
- Opening and closing the retail store
- Growing sales of wine and merchandise
- Offering new and exciting ideas to attract more visitors
- Make necessary changes to increase efficiency of service in the tasting room
- Troubleshoot any POS errors as well as authorize any refunds
- Monitor sales goals and strive to exceed them
- Merchandising of all retail products on a regular basis
- Ensure that all conflicts or complaints are handled professionally
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of management experience
- Education or knowledge of wine and wine regions
- Leadership capabilities and the ability to motivate retail associates
- Smartserve Certification
- Computer skills for troubleshooting and resolving POS errors
- Ability to direct flow of foot traffic
- Willing to take direction
- Ability to manage positive and negative aspects of staffing
- Physically able to carry a case of wine (60 lbs)
- Strong presentation skills
- Excels at organizing and presenting bottles and merchandise
