Redtail Vineyards is a fast growing and ambitious winery located in Prince Edward County. Since the acquisition of Redtail in 2018, we have acquired hundreds of acres of land, planted 25 acres of vines with full geotextile application, built a multi-million-dollar production facility, and achieved zoning approval for a Hyatt Hotel and Nordic spa. Our production facility includes state of the art production equipment, FOSS laboratory equipment, imported cement tanks and eggs from Europe (in addition to a host of stainless steel and oak tanks and barrels).
The Head Winemaker for Redtail Vineyards will be the leader of developing a dynamic brand in Prince Edward County. This role will require experience in winemaking in cool climates and different styles of wine. With a passion for producing something special, you strive to create wines that will be at the pinnacle of the Ontario wine Industry. The right person for this role will have a self-starting attitude and love to work as part of a team to achieve success. The winemaker will work closely with our head of viticulture and head of sales and marketing to plan and produce each vintage. Our first vintage of County grapes will be 2023 and will be yours to create in line with the vision for the brand. A degree and training in Oenology/Winemaking is a must have for this role.

Maintain a safe workplace, adhering to all Ministry of Labour standards
This dynamic role requires someone with extensive winemaking experience in the Canadian wine industry. As the leader of our winemaking effort, you have a combination of technical knowledge and experience (both educational and on the job experience), strategic thinking, and execution ability. You have boundless energy and the ability to focus on the right initiatives to “move the needle”. As an executive of the company, you will be involved in the strategic direction of the company, enjoying the journey of growing Redtail into an industry leader.
